Transcript
Harjit: Hi, I'm the new shift lead on the loading dock. The pallet truck won't lift, and we've got a delivery window closing at four. Dispatcher: Okay, before I send a technician — when you press the lift lever, do you hear the pump motor run, or is it completely silent? Harjit: It's silent. No motor at all. The battery indicator shows three bars, though, so it's not dead. Dispatcher: Three bars is fine for the display but not enough to drive the pump. That model needs a near-full charge to lift a loaded pallet. An empty one it'll still raise. Harjit: So it's the charge, not a breakdown. Can I just swap in the spare truck from bay two? Dispatcher: The spare is out for its safety inspection until tomorrow. Put this one on the fast charger by the office — forty minutes gets you back above the lift threshold. Harjit: Forty minutes still leaves me cutting it close on the four o'clock window. Dispatcher: Then call the carrier and ask them to push the pickup to four-thirty. They'd rather wait half an hour than make a second trip for a half-loaded truck.

What is wrong with the pallet truck?
